Mary A. Hufham Album and Papers, 1861-1840

This album belonged to Mary A. Hufham, wife of James Dunn Hufham. The contents were added to by later generations of Hufhams, Singletons, and Southall familes. The album contains poetry, miscellaneous clippings, photographs of James Dunn Hufham (including one made in Charleston, South Carolina in 1863), Mary Faison Hufham [daughter], and obituaries of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Hufham, George W. Hufham, B.F. and Moctavia Marable and others. Loose papers include miscellaneous clippings, a photograph of J.D. Hufham with his Bible, a photograph and tintype of Mary [Faison?] Hufham, snapshots of Thompson Broom Southall and the Lossong home in Knoxville, Tenn; undated letters from J.D. Hufham to his daughter Annie Singleton about his visit to Charleston, South Carolina in 1863 and his later visit to the ancestoral homeplace in Virginia; miscellaneous writings of J.D. Hufham; and records from the family Bible.
